The boy who trapped the Copper Sun

He was old enough to know now
He cried long enough to blame himself now
He let his past dictate his decision
He let the wound obliterate any smile

As a boy he was alone
The birds were his friends
The trees were his mentors

As a boy he never spoke too much
No feminine figure intrigued him
But the tyrant female of his house

As a boy he was looking at the stars
Wishing his life would begin
Wishing to be freed from the chains

As a boy he licked his wounds easier
He hopped around like a wild child
Like a ghastly wind at night unnoticed and despaired

He was old enough to let the words come out now
He was broken enough to let go
He let his past decide his present
He did not leave room for a smile

As a man he felt awkward in the crowd
All squirmy and afraid to speak up
Always obeying others’ demands

As a man he cherished to count the coins
Thinking them his freedom
Not letting anyone tore them from him

As a man his need to feel desire
Left him abandoned and betrayed
Left him empty and bitter

As a man he hurt what he loved
That was he pleasure, his revenge
He did not care for feelings, not much

As a man he did not even smile
But filled his hours with loneliness
And vacuumed the smiles which came his way

He was too old enough now to look back
He was too alone now to find that lost smile
He was too wrong now to forgive...himself
