A Sky Ode

A Sky Ode

It is the wrong allegiance of life
The temptation of giving in
Expecting to be swept away in sin
Like the soaring birds battling to breathe

Burning roses of a doomed earth
Holding a washed-out candle for a blue spell
Bellowing at divinity for the bestowed greed
Bowing to its call with myriad burdens amiss

Abandonment of the sweetest era has begun
The crowds roam like cattle to a lowly farm
Wooing the effort of the Master’s disguise
Hurting their feet with the nails of a spike

Fathers of Old age plead in despair
Frightened of the New unwelcoming Era
Cursing the youngsters’ demons and fears
Executing their wives rusty dreams

A journey in the cold core of existence
Guides the hope of a new love of distance
Scattering the ashes of hesitation away
Melting the ice-caps of the new born May

Leaving the heat of idealism in the shadows
Forging a blessed grin in humanity’s sordid arrows
Pushing the cocky florid gift of doom
Whilst holding for Bible the Galaxy Book

Forgiveness blends in shades of purple
In the nests of the Monster which is unheard of
A spidery scheme for the Graces of Grief
Prance like black lilies in the valley of thieves

Butcher thy soul!
Amazing immoral foes
And watch out thy slimy words
For thy end is born in the Infinite Awe!

(Inspired by Theatre of Tragedy – And when He Falleth)
